80 YEARS OF JAGUAR

DESIGN EVOLUTION: 80 YEARS OF JAGUAR

Eighty years of the Jaguar name means eighty years of iconic design. We're tracing just a handful of our key design moments from the past eight decades. Today's Jaguar family wouldn't be the same without them.

  • DESIGN EVOLUTION: 80 YEARS OF JAGUAR - 1935 - 1959

Part one sees the early years of evolution from 1935 until 1959. We start with the very first Jaguar model and travel through to motorsport success and the creation of the pioneering sports saloon segment.

  • DESIGN EVOLUTION: 80 YEARS OF JAGUAR - 1960 - 1996

The Jaguar family has changed with the times, but the bloodline to today’s range is clear. In part two, we start with the 1960s and see the creation of more iconic legacies. This was the time that truly established Jaguar design, and is still inspiring the cars of today.

  • DESIGN EVOLUTION: 80 YEARS OF JAGUAR - 1997 - 2016

Jaguar design was reinvigorated in the new millennium. It evolved, building on its recent years but moving above and beyond some of the more conservative, retrospective designs. It started to take on a whole new outlook. In large part, this was driven by Ian Callum, Jaguar Director of Design since 1997. The following two decades have breathed new life into the Jaguar family, taking inspiration and vitality from the past and reimagining it for today.
