THE STELLAR RISE OF DUA LIPA
“Never rely on a plan B “– that was the strategy adopted by British / Kosovan Dua Lipa to succeed in the music industry. Her plan A proved her right.
Once signed, Dua wrote and recorded her debut album. Her debut single, “New Love,” was followed up with the soulful “Be the One” that reached the Top 10 in a dozen European territories. Longlisted for the prestigious BBC Sound of 2016, Dua Lipa released “Hotter Than Hell” and “Blow Your Mind (Mwah)” in 2016, hitting Top 20 in the UK, and climbed into Billboard’s Top 25 in the US respectively. In 2017, she earned the distinction of having three simultaneously charting singles in the UK Top 15 with “Be the One,” “Scared to Be Lonely” with Martin Garrix, and “No Lie” with Sean Paul. Later on, Lipa scored her first UK No.1 single “New Rules” which also went on to become #1 in several other European countries and broke the record in the US for Billboard’s longest run on the Pop Songs Chart at 42 weeks, spending 5 weeks at #1 on the Top 40 Chart.
Following her rise from student to global success, Dua is intent on setting the pace further; she wants more. With Jaguar's innovative technologies, she has incorporated driving data into her creative process for the first time: her “data drive” with the all electric Jaguar I-PACE has analysed her driving behaviour. She has used this data to create a new version of one of her songs, which she will perform live for the first time on 3 September at an exclusive Jaguar event in Amsterdam. For her fans, there will also be an opportunity to create a personalised remix of this track.
