From the very first sketch, one uncompromising principle guided our vision for a luxury four-door Grand Tourer: protect the purity of the design. The result is our patented JEA body architecture – a radical new interpretation of EV design that delivers the longest, lowest and most torsionally rigid Jaguar ever.

Always challenging traditionalism

Underfloor batteries traditionally raise a roofline. But for Type 01, that was not an option. To save precious millimetres of height, connectors for the 200 battery cells are positioned on the sides of the individual cells, rather than on top.

Using a Tri Apex Node, the battery can reach further forward, ensuring no compromise on range or exterior presence.

Efficiency everywhere

To optimise space, key components have been carefully positioned. The advanced Battery Energy Management system is located between the front wheels in a high voltage compartment. It doubles as a brace for the front suspension.

Aerodynamic gains and driving efficiencies are optimised through the intelligent deployable rear spoiler. The three-stage design is hidden at low speeds, but reduces drag and generates up to 75kg of downforce at 155kph. This improves traction and stability, enabling higher cornering speeds and more effective braking and acceleration.
