Top Gear names all-new Jaguar XJ as its Luxury Car of the Year 2010
MAHWAH, N.J., (December 8 2010) - Top Gear, the popular automotive magazine named after the BBC's Top Gear television show, has named the all-new Jaguar XJ as its Luxury Car of the Year 2010, placing the British automaker's flagship model above rivals such as BMW and Audi.
Jason Barlow, Editor at Large, Top Gear Magazine, described the all-new XJ as a “Blast from the future,” adding “rarely has a new car slackened so many jaws.”
The all-new XJ is a landmark vehicle from a revitalized and more confident Jaguar. Since its launch in May 2010, it has been extremely well received by customers and media alike and is fast becoming a multi-awarding winning model, having already scooped accolades from Scottish Luxury Car of the Year, What Car?, Luxury Green Car of the Year and AUTOMOBILE Magazine's 2010 Design of the Year award.
“The Jaguar XJ brought a bold new approach to the luxury car market in the UK with its distinctive design, generous accommodation, exceptional performance and strong economy credentials,” said Geoff Cousins, Managing Director, Jaguar UK.
Cousins continues, “We’re delighted that the Top Gear team -- definitely one of the toughest judging panels anywhere in the auto world -- have recognized what makes the XJ so special with this award.”
Priced from $72,700.00, the Jaguar XJ is on-sale now at Jaguar dealerships throughout the US.
To add, for all 2011 Jaguar models in North America, the brand's new best-in-class Jaguar Platinum Coverage also offers complimentary scheduled maintenance, no-cost replacement of wear and tear items, 24/7 roadside assistance and a 5 year/50,000 mile new vehicle limited warranty.
