The Strickland Arms wins Team Sky Vive Le Tour Competition!
Team Sky called into The Strickland Arms in Penrith, Cumbria, on Tuesday 11 September, after a successful third stage in the Tour of Britain. The whole team arrived to congratulate the pub for winning Team Sky’s recent Vive Le Tour competition.
The contest ran over the final two weekends of the Tour de France and involved 11 pubs across the UK competing against each other to see who could get most into the spirit of the world’s biggest bike race.
The Strickland Arms created an incredible atmosphere during the Tour by covering the pub in Vive le Tour bunting, water bottles and beer-mats. They even organised a series of local bike rides to and from the pub.
As well as meeting all those people who made the event such a resounding success, they also presented the landlords with a signed yellow Tour de France jersey from Bradley Wiggins.
We’re behind Team Sky all the way, and to get into the spirit of the Tour of Britain, we’re running an exclusive competition on Twitter on @Sportbrake. You could win a signed Team Sky Adidas shirt simply by using #TeamSkyJaguar in your tweets about the Tour.
