JaguarRSR finished 11th in class and 32nd overall at Long Beach. A sticky throttle was detected during the warm-up laps, which the crew tried to fix on the grid before the start. After 28 laps, however, the problem forced a pit stop.

“It was our first checkered flag and we’re pleased with that,” commented team owner Paul Gentilozzi, ”but we won’t be satisfied until we return Jaguar to its proper place in the field – at the front.”
