Engines

The XK is powered by a 5.0 Litre naturally aspirated V8 direct injection petrol engine. The XKR is driven by a 5.0 Litre supercharged V8 petrol with 510PS that delivers 0-100kph in just 4.8 seconds. Both engines are paired with Jaguar's highly acclaimed ZF 6HP28 6-speed automatic transmission. For maximum driver involvement, the transmission also features the lightning-quick Jaguar Sequential Shift

TM system with steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters. No matter which engine you chose, you're guaranteed an exceptional driving experience.

• 5.0 LITRE V8 GEN III ENGINE

  The XK and XK Portfolio are powered by Jaguar's 5.0 Litre AJ-V8 GEN III engine. Advanced fuel injection technology, dual independent variable cam timing and the use of lightweight components mean that this high performance engine combines power and exceptional refinement with remarkable efficiency. Continuously variable valve timing delivers higher levels of torque over a wide range of engine speeds, providing instant throttle response and broad flexibility.
  
  The engine develops a peak torque of 515Nm and 385PS - an impressive 29 percent increase in power versus the previous generation XK V8 engine - to deliver acceleration from 0-100kph in just 5.5 seconds, whilst at the same time offering improved fuel economy and lower CO2 emissions.

• 5.0 LITRE SUPERCHARGED V8 PETROL - XKR

  The XKR's all new 5.0 Litre AJ-V8 GEN III R engine is the most powerful and efficient ever designed by Jaguar. Featuring twin air intakes, variable inlet camshaft phasing and a new sixth generation Eaton supercharger, it develops a peak torque of 625Nm and 510PS - a 23 percent increase in power versus its predecessor, with class leading remarkable efficiency, improved fuel economy and lower CO2 emissions.
  
  Acceleration in the XKR is breathtaking -– 0 to 100 kph in just 4.8 seconds but the supercharger also ensures high levels of power are available at all engine speeds, providing instant throttle response, outstanding mid-range acceleration and excellent driveability.
