  The Jaguar 2.0 litre I4 240 Turbocharged Petrol engine is an all-new state-of-the-art turbocharged engine, combining 6 cylinder refinement and performance with 4 cylinder economy. The engine combines three key powertrain technologies; advanced low-inertia turbocharging, high pressure direct fuel injection and twin variable valve timing to provide outstanding driveability with strong low rpm performance and a broad, torque rich power band. The engine uses highly efficient fuel & induction technologies, including a Roots type twin vortex supercharger, high-pressure direct fuel injection, twin variable camshaft timing (inlet & exhaust). It provides a refined and smooth power delivery, utilising an innovative crank balancing system to optimise refinement and make it as smooth as a V8.
