Jaguar Global Challenge 2007
|
|
February 2008: An Irishman, Pat Faherty, has won the 2007 Jaguar Global Challenge, becoming the world's top Jaguar technician for a record breaking second year in a row.
In 2006 Pat was the first Irishman to qualify for the Global Challenge Final and won the trophy against stiff competition from around the world.
Participants in the Global Challenge must complete five papers designed to test their product and technical knowledge and must achieve over 95% to qualify for the final. Pat was the only Irish qualifier with a score of 98%.
The Global Challenge Final is held at the Jaguar Technical Academy in the UK over a number of days and entrants travel from all over the world. Seven tests are set for the finalists covering brand knowledge, technical diagnostics, diagnostic and maintenance procedures, practical tests and customer facing scenarios.
Pat is senior Jaguar technician with Bradley Jaguar in Galway, where he served his apprenticeship.
Speaking at the presentation of the Jaguar Global Challenge Trophy, Kevin Phelps, Jaguar Customer Service Director, congratulated Pat on the outstanding achievement of being the top Jaguar technician in the world for two consecutive years, setting a record which will be hard to beat. He said that Pat was a credit to his dealership, Bradley Jaguar and to Jaguar Ireland.
Accepting the award, Pat said that he had looked forward to defending his title but to win for a second year in a row was more than he had dared hope for. He thanked the management and staff at Bradley Jaguar in Galway and Peter Morrissey of Jaguar Ireland for their great encouragement and support as he prepared for the Global Challenge.
