Assistance and Reassurance
Sophisticated driver assistance systems are available to provide reassurance, information and control. Every F-TYPE also features a complement of advanced active and passive safety systems.
BLIND SPOT MONITORING WITH CLOSING VEHICLE SENSING
Designed to alert the driver to the presence of a vehicle in an adjacent lane, the Blind Spot Monitor uses radar sensors to show an amber warning signal in the wing mirror.
Closing Vehicle Sensing is designed to warn the driver when a vehicle is rapidly approaching from behind.
REVERSE TRAFFIC DETECTION
This optional system can provide warnings of other vehicles in the reversing path of F-TYPE, for example when in a car park.
REVERSE PARK CAMERA
Combines a rear facing camera with Touch-screen information. It features coloured distance guides and on-screen guidance lines that move according to steering wheel angle to indicate the area into which the car will reverse.
ADAPTIVE FRONT LIGHTING
By measuring the speed of the car and the angle of the steering wheel, F-TYPE’s optional Adaptive Front Lighting system can swivel the lamps by up to 14 degrees out, and up to 7 degrees in, to improve visibility during cornering.
INTELLIGENT HIGH BEAM
Using a sensor mounted at the front of the rear view mirror, the optional Intelligent High Beam system automatically switches between low and high beam when necessary leaving the driver free to concentrate on the road.
EMERGENCY BRAKE ASSIST (EBA) AND ELECTRONIC BRAKE FORCE DISTRIBUTION (EBD)
The Emergency Brake Assist system calculates distance and speed of approach to the vehicle in front and pre-charges the brakes to minimise impact speed if a collision is predicted. This works with the Electronic Brake Force Distribution that measure load weight and distributes braking force to front and back wheels accordingly.
PEDESTRIAN CONTACT SENSING SYSTEM™
An industry-leading Pedestrian Contact Sensing System™ and automatically deployable bonnet can also help protect those outside the car. If the system detects contact with a pedestrian, it raises the bonnet slightly to help prevent their head from contacting hard points under the bonnet.
