ADAPTIVE RESTRAINT TECHNOLOGY SYSTEM (ARTS™)
A further layer of protection for the front-seat passenger is provided by Jaguar's advanced Adaptive Restraint Technology System (ARTS™). ARTS™ is designed to assess the severity of a collision, and using four ultrasonic position sensors, a weight sensor in the front passenger seat, plus sensors to detect the seat position and the seat belt status, ARTS™ is programmed to determine the presence and position of the front seat passenger and deploys the dual-stage passenger airbag to the best level based on its calculations.

CONVERTIBLE ROLLOVER PROTECTION SYSTEM
The XK Convertible has its own array of safety features, including a highly advanced rollover protection system. If the car´s on-board sensors detect an impending roll-over, two massively strong hoops - normally discreetly hidden under the rear tonneau – are triggered and designed to deploy and lock behind the rear seats within 65 milliseconds.

The main control module governs key safety functions including:
- Emergency Brake Assist (EBA)
- Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD)
- Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)
- Traction Control (through engine and brake intervention)
- Dynamic Stability Control (DSC)
- Cornering Brake Control (CBC)
- Engine Drag Torque Control (EDR)
For the first time, the XK adds Understeer Control Logic, to mitigate understeer by intervening through the engine management and braking systems to decelerate and help restore grip to the front wheels. -
TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM (TPMS)
Sensors in each wheel continuously monitor the pressure in each tire and alert the driver to any unusual change that could signal a loss of pressure.

SECURITY SYSTEMS
A perimeter alarm and engine immobilizer helps protects your XK. The key-fob controls functions including remote locking for the driver’s door only, or for doors, trunk lid and fuel filler cover. Its encryption system allows for roughly 64 billion combinations. Simply by pressing or double pressing a door handle button, all doors can be locked or double-locked. And the XK also includes drive-away locking and, for the first time, the speed at which it operates can be selected via touch-screen.
