An elegant and bold sporting profile enhanced by distinctive design features.
THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS
A panoramic, heat-reflective glass roof extends to the full width of the car and sweeps as far back as the rear seat area. It filters UV rays and floods the interior with natural light making it airy, enviably spacious and, due to effective tinting, private.
The rear screen appears to wrap seamlessly around the car and creates a floating roofline, emphasizing the long, low and wide aspect of XJ and its breath-taking profile.
BI-FUNCTION HID XENON HEADLIGHTS
Bi-function HID Xenon headlights operate automatically when it starts to get dark. The headlight wipers are set flush into the front bumper so they do not disrupt the XJ's elegant lines. In addition, the headlights react to speed and steering, to cast a deeper beam on corners, and provide extra light for low-speed manoeuvres, such as parking. An intelligent high beam feature selects low beam when it detects oncoming vehicles and returns to full beam when the traffic has passed.
REAR PARKING AID WITH VISUAL INDICATOR
Ultrasonic sensors in the rear bumper detect objects up to 1.8m away and the driver receives an audible warning. At the same time, the screen in the centre console shows where the object is in relation to the car.
As optional extras, the XJ can be fitted with similar sensors for the front of the car and a rear-facing camera, which sends pictures of what is behind the car to the screen and provides steering guidance to help the driver reverse into a space.
DISTINCTIVE REAR LIGHTS
Signature cat's claw rear LED light clusters follow the contours of the trunk down toward the bumper, giving the impression that the XJ looks ready to pounce.
POWER OPENING AND CLOSING TRUNK
The powered trunk is opened with a single press on the remote key, or by using a switch either inside the car or on the bumper. There is another switch inside the lid for closing it. In addition, the lid can be set to open to a particular height.
Chrome power vents are set into each front fender, behind the front wheel. Designed to allow heat out of the engine bay, they also have a decorative appeal and feature a sculpted 'ingot' with the Jaguar name. A 'SUPERCHARGED' motif is also included on the XJ Supercharged.
There is a choice of twelve designs for the XJ's alloy wheels, which are available in 18", 19" or 20". Wider wheels and tires are fitted at the rear, to optimize grip and accentuate the cars forward dynamic.
