Why buy in Canada?

Why are Jaguar cars in Canada priced differently than in the U.S.?
Canadian Jaguar vehicles feature different equipment packages than U.S. vehicles. The MSRP (Manufacturer´s Suggested Retail Price) is calculated reflecting these differences and other market factors EXCLUDING the currency exchange rate.

Will Jaguar Canada be adjusting the Canadian MSRPs?
While the currency is not factored into the MSRP of Canadian Jaguar Vehicles, our goal is complete customer satisfaction. Effective May 1st, 2008, we have reduced the MSRP of our XK and XJ vehicles. We view this action as competitive in nature. Please see your local Jaguar dealer for more information.

Why buy in Canada?
Buying from your local Canadian Jaguar dealer gives you the best opportunity to purchase the vehicle of your choice with the best Jaguar experience.  Your local Jaguar dealer provides you with Jaguar Canada manufacturer authorized sales and service support, and ensures the best, smoothest experience. Because of the change in the exchange rate, you may have considered importing a car into Canada from the U.S. Importing a vehicle is not a simple process. The steps and costs involve more than buying a car and paying duty at the border.

What should I expect if I import a car into Canada from the U.S.?
Before you can import a car, the list of requirements comes with a stack of paperwork to manage, including title documents, registration, sales receipts, statement of compliance label, manufacturer´s recall clearance letter, insurance for the vehicle, and vehicle import documentation. You will also need to submit all of this documentation to the proper government agencies (Canadian and U.S.) at the right time.

Once across the border, you will have a limited period of time to make the necessary modifications to your vehicle to make sure it complies with federal regulations.

What are the expenses of importing?
The expenses include paying the currency exchange fee, duty, GST, provincial taxes, excise tax on air conditioning, Green Levy Fuel Tax (where applicable), the cost to modify your vehicle, a non-refundable Registrar of Imported Vehicles fee, and a possible broker fee.

As well the costs of duty and taxes are calculated based on the purchase price – trade-in allowances are not factored into this cost.

What do I lose when I import a car from the U.S.?
Warranty,Complimentary scheduled maintenance, notification of normal service requirements, vehicle pick-up and delivery, service loan vehicles, final trade-in assistance and customer incentive programs are only some of the benefits you could lose if you choose to buy and import a vehicle from the U.S.

Can I lease a car from the U.S.?
