XF Models / Engines
The XF´s choice of four outstanding engines means the perfect powertrain for every driver preference. It offers everything from one of the most refined diesels in its class, the 2.7-litre V6 turbodiesel, through a choice of 3.0-litre V6 and 4.2-litre naturally aspirated V8 petrol, to a 4.2-litre supercharged V8 petrol with 306kW. And whatever the choice, they all offer refinement, flexibility and outstanding performance. The XF is available in three trim levels: Luxury, Premium Luxury and SV8. Luxury is available with the petrol or diesel V6 engines, Premium Luxury with the naturally aspirated V8, with the supercharged V8 reserved for SV8. Offered in the Luxury model, the Euro IV compliant 152kW 2.7-litre 24-valve V6 turbodiesel with 435Nm of torque, combines ultra high-pressure common rail direct injection with multiple-phase piezo-electric injection control. The result is smoother, quieter delivery of power, improved fuel efficiency and lower emissions - including 7.5 l/100km combined fuel economy and a CO2 output of 199g/km.

Also offered in the Luxury model, the XF´s superb 3.0-litre V6 petrol produces 175kW, with more than eighty per cent of its peak torque spread across almost its whole speed range. Continuously variable camshaft phasing and variable geometry intakes speed responses and improve performance at all engine speeds. But the same features also reduce emissions, while class-leading torsional stiffness minimises noise and maximises reliability.

The XF´s 4.2-litre petrol V8s, with or without supercharger, are the same highly regarded engines that power Jaguar´s XK and XKR sports cars.
Compact and light in weight, but big on performance and refinement, both feature all-aluminium construction, variable camshaft phasing, four overhead camshafts and four valves per cylinder. The naturally aspirated version in the Premium Luxury XF develops 219kW and 411 Nm of torque, with wonderful refinement, deep character and effortless performance.
The V8´s exhaust system has been completely retuned to remain quiet at cruising speeds but deliver a substantially more purposeful V8 roar under hard acceleration.

The beauty of mechanically-driven supercharging is massive torque and instant, linear responses. The XF´s supercharged V8, available only in the SV8, uses a rotor-type supercharger, driven from the crankshaft, with helical rotor gears for low noise and coated rotors for high efficiency. It develops 306kW, and up to 560Nm of torque, with at least 86 per cent of that mighty torque peak available all the way from 2000rpm through to maximum engine speed.

* All new vehicle prices include Luxury Car Tax (LCT) where applicable, and are recommended retail prices (RRP) excluding dealer delivery charges which may vary from dealer to dealer, stamp duty which varies from state to state, registration and compulsory third party insurance costs. All factory fitted optional extra prices include LCT and are RRP.
From 1st July, 2008 LCT of 33% applies to vehicles, factory fitted optional extras and dealer delivery charges where the total price is above $57,180. Where the total price of the vehicle is below $57,180, the price of factory fitted optional extras will be reduced by the value of the LCT.
This is pursuant to the Federal Government´s announcement that these revised LCT parameters will apply retrospectively from 1 July 2008 once the Tax Laws Amendment (Luxury Car Tax) Bill 2008 has passed through the Senate.
During the period between 1st July and when the legislation is passed, the Australian Tax Office has advised that dealers are able to either:
1. Anticipate the tax increase and collect the extra tax in advance, pending the passage of the legislation through the Senate; OR 2. Not anticipate the tax increase and, when the legislation is passed through the Senate, retrospectively seek additional payment in respect of the rate increase.
This is a manufacturer website. New vehicles must be purchased from dealers. Prices and optional extra specifications are subject to change without notice.
Please contact your authorised Jaguar dealer for further details.
