V6 Diesel EngineThe 'near 50mpg' 2.7 V6 Diesel engine is so efficient, it actually requires a supplementary heater in order to supply warm enough air to the cabin.
The fuel pressure in the 2.7 V6 Diesel engine is held at a constant 1650 bar, that's 750 times more than a fully inflated tyre!
Clean, High Performance DieselsThe 2.7 Litre V6 Twin Turbo Diesel which powers both the XF 2.7 D and the XJ6 D utilises an exhaust system fitted with a Catalyst Diesel Particulate Filter to ensure low emissions which meet the latest Euro IV requirements.
The engine is built using
Compacted Graphite Iron, which allows it to be lighter and stronger providing outstanding power and performance. 152kW of power and 435Nm of torque deliver swift and smooth overtaking.
These technologies utilised by Jaguar ensure low CO
2 emissions and minimise diesel particulate emissions.
ZF TransmissionThe electronic brain of the ZF transmission 'learns' to respond to your driving style. In Sport mode, throttle and cornering behaviour are monitored. When an enthusiastic driving style or a demanding road is detected, 6th gear is inhibited and lower gears are made more accessible, to prevent 'hunting' between gears. In cruising mode, 6th gear is reinstated to maximise refinement and economy. After heavy braking, the system downshifts to allow optimum acceleration if required.
R PerfomanceOn R-Performance models, the 6-speed automatic transmission is programmed to not upshift mid-bend when a high lateral-g loading is detected.
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
Adaptive Cruise Control features radar technology developed for the aviation industry.
JaguarVoiceWith
JaguarVoice, it is possible to adjust the climate control settings, set a navigation route home, control Radio, CD, MD, Tape and make a hands-free telephone call, all without even moving one's hands from the steering wheel or taking one's eyes off the road!
Jaguar Key FobIf you hold down both the lock and unlock buttons on a Jaguar key fob simultaneously you can both immobilise or activate the two-stage unlocking. Just hold them both down, wait for the indicators to activate after about 5 seconds and the action is in place. To change back, just do the same action again.
XJ SuspensionInstead of traditional steel coil springs, the XJ uses advanced, self-levelling air spring/damper units to deliver the ideal balance of ride and handling, whatever the road conditions. Height sensors feed data to an electronic control module that ensures the XJ is always level, regardless of passenger or luggage load. When parked, the system awakens every 24 hours to level the vehicle.
Disc BrakesJaguar was the first Manufacturer to use Disc Brakes and DOHC (Double Overhead Cam Shaft) engines in their production cars.
